Thea Khama came to Botswana as a high school graduate from Berkeley, California USA and stands now as one of the leading luminaries of the nation: married in the royal tradition of the Bangwato, a politician’s wife, mother, and pioneer in the field of transformation in Botswana: mind, body and soul. Thea is a Professional Consciousness Coach® and Massage Therapist by trade and is the Managing Director of InnerCore Energetics Corporation (Pty) Ltd that provides awareness trainings, and coaching for personal, professional, or conscious team development.
Mrs. Khama is the wife of the Hon. Minister of Environment, Natural Resources, Conservation and Tourism Tshekedi Khama and the mother to two young adults’ son Kaedi Sekgoma Khama and daughter Tahlia Naledi Khama. Eager to make a difference in a myriad of ways, she began her charitable work with The Women’s Shelter Project and was the originator and chair of Tsela Riders-Road Cycling Network in Gaborone developing young cycling talent. Thea co-owned and managed Body 'n Soul (Pty) Ltd trading as Energym Health Studio (1998-2016) where she devoted her energy for the good part of two decades training athletes and the general public, employing and equipping many Batswana with qualifications and skills in the field of health and wellness. Energym was the first health centre in Botswana to introduce the world famous Body-for-Life body transformation system, SPINNING ®, Pump, Tae Kwon Do, Katabox, kid's gym equipment and crèche, and a fully equipped day spa.
Thea now sits on the board of Children in the Wilderness, is the founder and Patron of Pelotshweu Foundation—whose tagline is “Giving with a Pure Heart”, Heritage book, Men and Boys for Gender Equality, Elephant Ignite - Women for Wildlife, and the Ambassador for the Global March for Elephant, Rhino and Lion.
Thea channels her love of the indomitable quality of the human spirit into Teen Spirit – Uncover the Genius Within™, which she established in 2010 to empower and transform lives from the inside out. Teen Spirit is primarily a youth mentorship program using self discovery and a peer mentorship models she created to train young people and their mentors in facilitation, transformation and implementation.
Thea Khama is driven by an inner calling to nurture, and consistently uses her artistic awareness, writing skills, personal and inter-personal experiences, networks and professional qualifications to empower others with the same degree of compassion and passion for life she awakes to on a daily basis.
